Following the government announcement at the beginning of January regarding the national lockdown, the practice remains open and every precaution is being taken to protect patients. Osteopaths are considered essential healthcare workers and the public are allowed to access medical services. Please see the page entitled ‘Coronavirus’ for more details.
Osteopathic Excellence for Adults, Babies and Children
Kirkburton Osteopathic Practice is a friendly professional osteopathic clinic in the south east of Huddersfield providing safe and effective treatment for adults, babies and children. Whether you are suffering from neck, shoulder or back pain, arthritis, headaches, knee problems or other aches and pains, our osteopath can help you feel better.
The principal practitioner is Richard Metcalf who is a very experienced registered osteopath. He has been practising for over 20 years and has a reputation for being a caring and considerate osteopath who provides safe, gentle and comprehensive treatments. The vast majority of his patients hear about him from friends or family members which shows how much they trust in his ability to help.
Richard’s approach is a very gentle, accurate and deep form of osteopathy that is suitable for people of all ages from babies and children to pregnant women and the elderly. No high velocity thrust techniques (often called manipulation) are used. The approach is appropriate for every area of the body, including the head and is called Cranial Osteopathy. He feels this gives the whole body the best opportunity to heal.
Before making an appointment, Richard is always happy to discuss your problem and if he cannot help then he will suggest other possible treatment options.
